Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and BogdansLab. They're written to be read — if something is unclear, write to contact@bogdanslab.com.
1. Who we are
BogdansLab is run by Bogdan Druta, Barcea, Galați county, Romania ("we", "the owner"). Contact: contact@bogdanslab.com.
BogdansLab is a lab of software projects: flagship apps ("Specimens") and small experiments and games ("Samples"). They live at bogdanslab.com and its subdomains. BogdansLab is still being built and tested.
2. These terms and the Specimen pages
- These terms apply to everything in BogdansLab.
- Every Specimen has its own page with what is specific to it — what it keeps, what can be shared, its plans. They're all listed on Specimen pages, and each Specimen links to its page. When you use a Specimen, its page is part of these terms.
- If a Specimen page and these terms say different things, the Specimen page applies to that Specimen.
- The Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data, and the Cookie Policy what your browser keeps.
3. Who can use it
- You must be 16 or older to create an account.
- One account per person. Use an email address that is yours — it's how you sign in.
- Anyone can look around without an account ("visitor mode"). Playing, saving, sending wishes, using COMMS and appearing on the records need an account.
4. Your account
- One account for all of BogdansLab: the same sign-in works in the lab and in every Specimen.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google. There are no passwords.
- Your username is how others see you. It must not impersonate anyone, mislead, or be offensive, and it can't be changed once chosen. Some names are reserved for the lab.
- Keep access to your email safe: whoever can read it can sign in as you.
- You can download all your data or delete your account at any time from your dashboard (Privacy & data).
5. The lab is a lab
Experiments are experiments. Any part of BogdansLab may change, break, be reset or be retired, sometimes without warning — including scores, achievements and the things you made or posted in an experiment that ends. We'll tell you in the lab when we reasonably can. We don't promise that the lab is always available or free of errors. Keep your own copy of anything important (your dashboard's export gives you all of it).
6. What is public
Others see, with your username and avatar:
- your level, rank, XP and the achievements you hold;
- your scores on the RECORDS boards;
- the wishes you send in Celestial Wish;
- the certificates you hold, to anyone who checks one by its registry number;
- on the home page's live feed: that you joined and the achievements you unlock — unless you turn this off in Privacy & data.
Things you share on purpose — for example a share link in a Specimen — can be seen by anyone who has the link (the Specimen's page explains it). Your email address is never shown to anyone. What you send through COMMS is private between you and the owner.
7. What you may post or share
Some parts of the lab let you write or share things others can see (for example wishes, or a share link). When you do:
- Nothing illegal, and nothing hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual or violent.
- Nothing about another person they wouldn't want shared — no names, contact details, photos, health or private matters. Nothing about yourself you'd regret being public.
- No spam, advertising or links meant to trick people.
- Nothing that isn't yours to share — other people's work, words or secrets.
You keep the rights to what you make and post. You give us permission to store it and show it inside BogdansLab as the feature you used intends (for a share link: to anyone with the link), for as long as it's there; this ends when you or we delete it (copies in backups disappear as the backups are replaced).
8. Fair play
- Don't use bots, scripts or tricks to play, to win achievements or to climb the records.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the lab's protections or limits, and don't access anything that isn't meant for you.
- Found a bug or a weakness? Report it through COMMS → Feedback & ideas instead of using it. Useful reports can earn XP.
9. Reporting and moderation
- Anyone can report a wish they think breaks these terms or the law — visitors too — with the Report button. For anything else (for example a shared design, or something that infringes your copyright), write to contact@bogdanslab.com saying what it is, where, and why.
- The owner looks at reports and may also act on his own. Depending on what happened, he may:
- hide or delete what was posted — you'll be told which post and why, in the lab;
- time your account out for a set time, or ban it until lifted — while paused you can look around but not play, post, save, use COMMS or appear on the records, and you'll see why and until when;
- for attacks on the site, block the account and the network addresses (IP addresses) it connects from, for 90 days.
- Decisions are made by a person, not automatically.
- If you think a decision is wrong, write to contact@bogdanslab.com and it will be looked at again.
- Whatever happens, you can always download or delete your data.
- If we learn of content that may be a crime, we may have to report it to the authorities.
10. XP, levels, achievements and seals
XP, levels, ranks, achievements, records and Benefactor seals are part of the game. They have no money value, can't be sold, swapped or transferred, and may be adjusted — for example when an achievement's value changes, or when they were earned by cheating.
11. COMMS, ideas and project requests
- What you send through COMMS is read only by the owner.
- If you share an idea or feedback, we may use it freely, without owing you anything — though good ones may earn XP.
- A project request ("Work with me") is a conversation, not a contract. Any paid work is agreed separately, in writing.
12. Paid features
Nothing in BogdansLab costs money today; plans or certificates you have were given to you while we test. When paid plans, the Shop, certificates or support (Fuel the lab) open, their price, what you get, and your right to withdraw and get a refund will be shown before you pay, and these terms will be updated first. Nothing is ever charged without you clearly choosing to pay.
13. How we contact you
We email you only what you ask for (sign-in codes) and, rarely, important news about your account or these terms. No newsletters or advertising unless you ask for them. In the lab, notices appear on your dashboard.
14. Our work
The lab's code, design, texts, artwork, 3D models and names belong to the owner (fonts and other parts made by others are used under their own licences). You may use BogdansLab as intended; please don't copy it, scrape it or reuse its content without asking.
15. Responsibility
BogdansLab is provided as it is, while it's being built. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, lost data from an experiment that changes or ends, or for problems caused by things outside our control (for example an outage of a service we rely on). Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited — for example for harm caused on purpose or by gross negligence — or your rights as a consumer.
16. Ending
You can stop at any time and delete your account from your dashboard; your data is then deleted (see the Privacy Policy). We may pause, ban or block an account as described in section 9. If BogdansLab, a Specimen or an experiment closes, we'll try to tell you first so you can download your data.
17. Changes to these terms
When these terms or a Specimen page change, the new version is shown with its date and you'll be asked to agree again the next time you visit. Earlier versions stay readable on these pages. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
18. If the lab changes hands
The owner may move BogdansLab to a business he runs (for example a Romanian sole-trader business, PFA, or a company). These terms then continue with that business, and we'll tell you before it happens.
19. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protections your own country's law gives consumers. If something goes wrong, please write to contact@bogdanslab.com first — most things can be fixed quickly. You can also turn to the Romanian consumer authority (ANPC, anpc.ro) or the courts.
20. The rest
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a rule at once, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms, the Specimen pages and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and BogdansLab about using it.
- They are written in English.
